PoemTalking into the wee hours of the morning with a good friend can really get you thinking.. of the past, the present, the future. What is it about your past do you regret doing? What is it about the present that you're not doing, which will serve to be a regret in the future? Then again, what is the future? Suddenly life can get strange.. like it's not even your life in the first place. As if you're looking down on someone who looks strangely familiar - one who looks like you. You're not in control, and you can see this person screwing up his/her life, and you want to help. But you can't do anything. Ah, well. A poem:~ Broken ~You meet him. Things advance. What you've got is risky. You both know that. But you can't tear yourself away. You think you love him, that's why. Balancing on that thin rope.
Holding on to each other for balance.Things go fine. He says "We'll get past this. As long as we work together."You believe him. You find that you can love. For the first time. Real love. Trust. Give. Receive. Accept. Give. Give.Give.But then things change. He gives you a push.A firm, hard hand on your back.Strong enough to push you offBut weak enough to claim innocence. You fall. For him still, but also to the ground. The ground is far away. You shatter.Body.Mind.Soul.heart.Broken into a million pieces. You look up from your broken stateInto the eyes of the one you love.Or loved. And he laughs. -Anonymous
