Last night, the weather was gorgeous. I walked out of the library at 9.30pm after the rest had left, and was met with a cold blast which left me wondering where it came from because I was already out of the library. It was the wind. A wind that on many other occasions was warm, stifling, and barely even there.
I sat down on one of those wooden benches overlooking the greenery, and the feeling was absolutely fantastic. It was just me, my hot water bottle, and the cold wind in my face. The moment was absolutely perfect, and the sense of peace that filled me was pretty damn amazing.
I don't know why it's been so cold these few days. But I'm not complaining. The wind was just incredible -- fresh, cold, and strangely inviting.
But fleeting.
