I care about them dearly and I wish things hadn't turned out this way. What happened?Tonight, I pray for both of them. That they will each find happiness and forget the hurt. Amen.

-Princess Shopandeat in HK-Day 1
Welcome to Hong Kong! My first aerial glimpse at 10.30am
Deciding on the game plan.
An absolutely filthy place we had dinner at, along Temple St. Good food, but I still get the shudders when I think about it.Day 2
Bleary-eyed. 8.15am and waiting for the ferry to go to Macau.
Wandering the streets of Macau.
Stuffing our faces with the absolutely delicious Portugese egg tarts. The ones in Sg don't even come close.
I just like posing for stupid photos. Can?
Mum & I at the ruins of St Paul.
Mum's favourite peanut candy. She was so excited to see the guy making it!
The street decorated for the Mid-Autumn Festival. How cute!!
Shao Lin Warriors
One of the cute Venetian guys they hire to row those gondolas at The Venetian! Very authentic!
Those chicken wings at Mongkok were da bomb.Day 3
The nearest MTR station to my hotel. Nice and convenient!
I like this cha chan ting! We had great pork chop buns, dumplings and noodles here. And the design is cool! Retro and funky.
At the foot of my favourite building. It looks really sleek.
Chloe & I at the top of Victoria Peak. Pretty good view, except that it was smoggy.
Our feet hurt like mad but we couldn't find a reflexology place. So we soaked our feet in the bathtub. Hot bubbly water.Day 4
The mid-morning snack - dessert at Yee Shun Milk Company. Great stuff. Really yummy.
Mum at Hua Yuan Jie. Pretty flowers, but prettier shopping! And damn cheap!
The wrinkliest pup I have ever seen. And just look at that tongue.
Mum busy making her selections... and she claims she didn't shop that much.
Happenin' HK street.
Eric and I at Luk Yu Tea House where we ate him out of HK$700. Hmm not bad.
Angie and I on the windowsill in Eric's bedroom. He's got a great view of the water from his place. Gosh!
Melon and mint bong for Irene.
One of the nicest shots out of the trillions we've taken together, I think. Can you sense the euphoria??
Can we say "tispy"?
A post-drinks&shisha supper of chicken wings. What a perfect ending to a great evening.Day 5
We woke up earlyish to catch some really awesome dimsum. This place gives you a 50% discount if you foot the bill before noon. See what's going on behind me - they're attempting to choose from the vast array of gorgeous sounding dimsum. Serious business.
All this and MORE cost only HD$150!
Stanley Market. Nice coastal area, but very touristy.
A puffy kitty. Angie, this is for you!
A bus ride from opposite our hotel all the way to Stanley Market. It cost only HK$15 each, but we were treated to some really gorgeous scenery along the way.
Shit, it's beautiful!! No wonder everyone wants a house on the coast.-------------------------------------------So yes. HK was marvellous. The food, the shopping, the people, the vibe. We'll see you there again next year, Eric. Make sure the apartment's cleaned up for our arrival. Now, when's my next vacation?

I don't know what is it about the darkness of the night, the quiet of the house and the DJ-less radio station that gets one thinking. I was packing my stuff for HK just 30 minutes ago, but now, I've just left my clothes strewn all over the place and blogging. I'm a strange one, I am. I think I need to blog a little more often. It helps to get the thoughts rolling. I do thank God that I've been so blessed. Everyday without fail, someone or something around reminds me of how lucky I am. Of the wonderful things that get dealt out to me like clockwork. I must remember not to take it for granted. I must. I don't even know what direction this post is taking. Maybe there is no direction. Yes, indeed, I am lucky. When I sit down to think and to reflect, sometimes my mind is a blank. That's good, isn't it? It shows that I have no pressing worries besides meeting deadlines, getting to work on time (and I am often late. A major plus is that nobody really bothers what time I come in), what I should do with my future, ensuring that the dogs are ok and don't die on me too early... you know, little worries that in the larger spectrum of things, are hardly anything to waste brain cells on. There is so much to be thankful for that I don't know where to start. :) I'm going to HK soon for a 5-day trip. :) After which, I come back, work for 2 days, and then head to Malacca for 3 days. :)I've got marvellous friends who don't forget me even when it gets really busy. :)An amazing family, even though I complain about my brother a lot of the time. :) Two very adorable dogs that never fail to have me laughing. :)A nice, pink room.:) A great job that I enjoy, despite having its stressful moments. :) Superb colleagues. :) I get some form of exercise despite a busy lifestyle. :)
A mobile phone that hasn't conked out on me even though it's been a year and I'm usually unfortunate with technology.:)Time for supper occasionally, with friends nearby to make these moments extra special. :)Good health despite being a little unhappy about what I see on the scales. :)It's always little things like that, isn't it? Thank you, Lord.

Friday night at Walas was a horrendous disappointment. We had really crappy music - EIC wasn't there. It was some strange 7-piece band whose claim to fame seemed to be the one guy playing the saxophone. And even he couldn't sustain them. So we left and headed to meet Ben and Jacq at Coffee Club and then at Cold Rock Creamery where we had some pretty damn good ice cream. My combination was Ferrero, Cookie Dough, and Nutella. Hoooo boy! Well besides the lousy experience at Walas, the food was still pretty good, and entertainment in the form of Kwa was great too. Oh Kwa! I want to put you in a cage like a hamster and keep you in my room. Obviously the cage would have to be soundproofed lest Kwa-Hamster talks my ear off and keeps asking me irrelevant Qs all the time. "Bobo says hiiii".... hrmph. Happy Birthday Kwa! Next year you and Owen will celebrate together ok? It'd be his 7th birthday...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday night saw us trekking to East Coast Park where we celebrated Jo's birthday with her. I think her valiant attempts at pretending that it wasn't her birthday failed miserably, since everyone came bearing presents anyway. It was awesome seeing everyone (sorta everyone). Plus the food was great! I think WMM polished off about 15 sticks of kebabs and I definitely ate a tonne too. The best part about the whole experience? Jo's avocado. HURHUR. I was terrified that it would be sweltering at the party, but thanks to a good shower earlier on in the day, the night was cool and not humid at all. Lovely! Although we did have to bear with the fact that we had to wade through muddy waters to get from pit to path. Boo. I need to wash my shoes later.

Anyhow, it has been a superb weekend. I even went to watch the Singapore Fireworks on Saturday night and that was really good! I adore fireworks. Although the crowd was horrifying, and attempting to get out of City Hall after that was an absolute nightmare. I even missed Melch's masquerade party cos I couldn't get out of the human jam in time. :( Sorry babe. We'll celebrate this coming Sunday instead. And my weekend's not over yet! I'm heading out in a minute for a buffet lunch at the Ritz with my dad, and tonight I'm meeting San and Sheen for a long-overdue bitch fest over dinner. I LOVE MY LIFE.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Today is Owen's birthday! Happy Birthday baby!

This weekend is indeed shaping up to be pretty good. (My weekend is Sunday/Monday cos I work on Saturdays)After work yesterday, Jo and I headed to Action Theatre to watch The Swimming Instructor, tickets courtesy of Loretta. Wasn't really expecting to be blown away, and anyway, I wasn't. But for very shallow reasons, it was pretty enjoyable. The guy playing the swimming instructor had a superb body and it was very convenient that he basically spent the 1.5 hours onstage in swimming trunks or board shorts. We were only six rows away from the stage, so yes, it was a pretty exciting view. Hehehe. After the show and a very long hike in our heels to Little India MRT, we joined Sheen and Al at Tiamo, this really cool place at Serangoon Central, for drinks and food. I liked it!! It's sort of Grapevine-y, only with nicer ambience. Stuff there is pretty reasonable too. And not as crowded as Grapevine. So yeah.... good stuff!! I shall attempt to go there more often. It was a fantastic 4 hours of friendly banter (read: bitching) and culinary pleasure (read: stuffing our faces). It's actually been awhile since I stayed out late cos I've been leading a pretty regular life for the past couple of months, and by the time I got home at 3 smtg, I was completely zonked. Nice kind of zonked though. -------------------------------------Today I spent the day at my grandmother's place. She's not too good now, and has started relying on morphine. I think I did something good though. She's not had her nails cut for weeks (months?) because she's too weak to handle the nailclipper and she refuses to let anyone do it for her cos she's afraid her fingers would get clipped. But today I asked her if she'd let me do her nails, and she said ok. I spent 1.5 hours clipping, filing, and painting them a gorgeous dark red colour. I admit it really wasn't very well done cos I was so afraid of hurting her, so I had to do it milimetre by milimetre. And my hands were shaky so the polish job was a little splotchy. But in the end, her nails turned out okay-ish, and I felt very pleased that I at least did something that she liked. And because she was sleeping throughout the 1.5 hours, she woke up to nice(ish) looking nails and told me they were pretty. :)
