The New Year of 2005
Last night's countdown at Keenan's was good. It was really nice spending the evening with friends and just chatting, laughing, joking, and for some, drinking.
But it wasn't just that for me. Although being surrounded by so many friends, there was still a great sense of loneliness somehow. It's like this every New Year's Eve. Remembering the year that had just past... recalling what I had done that I was proud of, not so proud of, regretted, or enjoyed... and telling myself that the upcoming year would be different. Every year I tell myself that I would be something different in the new year, but sometimes, my own weaknesses prevent me from achieving my goals.
2004 was a year with many changes for me. Changes in maturity, in family, in relationships... I don't think I like change that much. I always look to it with a slight sense of apprehension, not knowing what to expect. However, I'm glad that in the past year, I took some steps for myself that I really needed to take.
I hope that in 2005, I will keep trying to make changes that will be of good in my life. One of the main ones would be to establish a closer relationship with God. Talked about this Christmas / New Year resolution with a friend (you know who you are), and we both decided that we really do need a better relationship with Him. Please do pray that both of us will be able to achieve this. =)
To the coming year; may it be filled with joy, happiness, love, and peace.

On a less serious note, here are some pics of last night's gathering at Keenan's.

K.O #3 Jon
Philo's cookies are super good! They taste like Famous Amos and Mrs Fields all rolled into one. Mmmmm-hmmmm! =) And well.. I thought the cookies were yummy, but I guess some thought that the alcohol was even better. Hahaha.
Up the whole night, alternating between cloud-gazing, "Spin the Bottle, Tell the Truth" on Keenan's rooftop garden and watching people get high is definitely tiring! By 9am this morning at the kopitiam eating brekkie with Charkwa, Jon, Justin and Matt, I was soooo damn tired I could have fallen face-first into my mee-pok. Thank goodness we had entertaining conversation to keep me from falling asleep.
Thanks Keenan, for letting us make a royal mess of your house and going to all the trouble to make your place available!!
