This weekend is indeed shaping up to be pretty good. (My weekend is Sunday/Monday cos I work on Saturdays)

After work yesterday, Jo and I headed to Action Theatre to watch The Swimming Instructor, tickets courtesy of Loretta. Wasn't really expecting to be blown away, and anyway, I wasn't. But for very shallow reasons, it was pretty enjoyable. The guy playing the swimming instructor had a superb body and it was very convenient that he basically spent the 1.5 hours onstage in swimming trunks or board shorts. We were only six rows away from the stage, so yes, it was a pretty exciting view. Hehehe.

After the show and a very long hike in our heels to Little India MRT, we joined Sheen and Al at Tiamo, this really cool place at Serangoon Central, for drinks and food. I liked it!! It's sort of Grapevine-y, only with nicer ambience. Stuff there is pretty reasonable too. And not as crowded as Grapevine. So yeah.... good stuff!! I shall attempt to go there more often. It was a fantastic 4 hours of friendly banter (read: bitching) and culinary pleasure (read: stuffing our faces).

It's actually been awhile since I stayed out late cos I've been leading a pretty regular life for the past couple of months, and by the time I got home at 3 smtg, I was completely zonked. Nice kind of zonked though.

-------------------------------------

Today I spent the day at my grandmother's place. She's not too good now, and has started relying on morphine. I think I did something good though.

She's not had her nails cut for weeks (months?) because she's too weak to handle the nailclipper and she refuses to let anyone do it for her cos she's afraid her fingers would get clipped. But today I asked her if she'd let me do her nails, and she said ok.

I spent 1.5 hours clipping, filing, and painting them a gorgeous dark red colour. I admit it really wasn't very well done cos I was so afraid of hurting her, so I had to do it milimetre by milimetre. And my hands were shaky so the polish job was a little splotchy. But in the end, her nails turned out okay-ish, and I felt very pleased that I at least did something that she liked. And because she was sleeping throughout the 1.5 hours, she woke up to nice(ish) looking nails and told me they were pretty.
