Make hay while the sun shinesThe last few days have been a flurry of activity, with a big part of it being a tour guide around Singapore. Irene and I have been bringing a Japanese guy, Satoshi around town, and I once again repeat that I think Singapore is really boring. In 4 days, you can see everything that there is to see! Visiting the Esplanade (thank you San for being our tourguide!), Chinatown, Arab Street, Little India, and all the other tourist areas on Wednesday didn't take too long. It was all done in 1 day. But zi char dinner after that with Teresa, Joel, Xiu Wen, Charkwa, Ali (Char's and Joel's friend from US), and Satoshi was really fun. The food was awesome, and it was pretty cool introducing our local food to our two visitors. =) And Zouk that same night with Kester, Greg, Marilyn, Mello, Charkwa, Ali, Irene, and Satoshi was great too. Kester, thank you for planning! It was ridiculously funny watching Kes and Satoshi do those idiotic Mambo moves, especially when Satoshi compared Mambo to the Japanese Para-Para. Hahaha. On Thursday, Irene and I brought Satoshi to Tampines, cos he wanted to see our 'suburbs'. Thank you Shaney for letting us take a peep in your home! I never knew that our local housing would be so interesting to visitors, and that the way we hang our clothes on bamboo sticks outside the windows would be termed "high teck-noh-loh-jee" (technology) by someone from the country that's so often 1st in inventing new stuff.
Waiting for 292 at Tampines St 11By Friday, we had run out of things to do, so it was lucky that dear Jacq happened to have organised a trip to Sentosa for some water, sun, and fun. Perfect timing, so I could bring Satoshi to visit the island. Really fun hanging out with Jarrod, Charkwa, Ali, Chunks, Marshall, Jacq, Val and Satoshi. It was lucky for all of us, cos it didn't rain. Have I mentioned that the last two times that I went to Sentosa, it poured???
Here's Jarrod making himself comfortable on Jacq's pareo
Jacq and I before we got really dark!
Marshall, Satoshi, and the coconut tree
Here's everyone!
Watching fireworks with Irene and Satoshi from the Singapore River area on Saturday night was cool. I LOVE FIREWORKS!!! But I think there wasn't as much fireworks as compared to the fireworks that there will be on the actual day. So does anyone wanna go watch with me on 9 August itself?? But it would still be only about 15mins worth, I think. Compared to Japan, where fireworks can go on for almost 2 hours. Or at least, that's what Satoshi said. WOW... can you imagine a 2hour-long fireworks display??? OOooooo... I LIKEY!
I don't know what they're doing, but it's funny
Oooooo the pretty fireworksss...
Been having a great time the last few days, except now I'm flu-ey and sunburnt. It's probably the extreme weather that we had on Friday and Saturday. Friday was soooo hot at Sentosa, and then it rained on Saturday. Retch. Much love to everyone that met Satoshi and went out of their way to be so nice and welcoming. And to Irene, it's been absolutely fantastic spending the last few days with you! Thanks especially for driving us around.... *blows kisses*PS. Angie darling, pics uploaded here especially for your viewing pleasure! You can live S'porean life variously through my blog. (Although I don't know why you want to)
